My photo studio is conveniently located in Belmar. It’s a 1,000+ square foot space with floor to ceiling front windows.

How long is a Portrait Session?

We’ll plan to spend an hour together and most likely we’ll finish sooner than that.

What time of day should we shoot our family portraits?

I like to consider when your children are in the best mood. I know my kiddos (4 year old twins & a 6 year old) are happier in the morning than the evening.

Sessions must happen during daylight hours. After you inquire about booking a session, we’ll discuss the optimal times for shooting.

How soon should we book our Family Portraits?

For Newborn Portraits, I suggest booking in the first month after baby arrives. While you’re pregnant, you can reserve your newborn session by booking on your due date. I leave room in my calendar for newborn sessions each week so we’ll be able to adjust your session date after baby arrives.

Throughout the year I book out at least 2 weeks in advance.  You can check my booking calendar for the most up to date availability.

During my busy months (September - November) the weekends fill up very fast.  So I recommend reserving your session as soon you know you’d like to shoot.

What should I wear to my Family Portrait Session?

Great question!

Check out my blog post on What to Wear.

I even have a wonderful personal stylist that I can recommend.

For the kiddos, I have a few great pieces in my Client Closet.

I’m also happy to discuss more details and help out while you’re choosing your outfits - email me!

Do we have to follow your advice on what to wear?

Nope!  Everything I share with you is simply a suggestion.  Ultimately, these photos are going to be your memories, so it is absolutely up to you what you decide to wear. However, if you like the vibe and atmosphere of the images you see on my website or my Instagram profile, I would suggest you follow my advice on what to wear. Wardrobe choices play such an important role in the overall feel of your images. So if you book me because you like the style of my images, you can make sure to get that same feel in your images by following my wardrobe suggestions.

What if I don't love my photos?

I'm happy to say that 99% of the time, a little preparation on your end and a lot of experience on my end result in a set of photos you will absolutely adore, but I understand that there's no way for you to know that until you have them in your hand. If you're not happy with the photos from your session, I will make it right, whether that's by refunding your session fee or reshooting the session. 100% Guaranteed.

What exactly is it you do?

I’m a portrait photographer and filmmaker for families. Sessions take place at my studio, in my client’s home or at a local park. My goal is to present a collection of beautiful portraits to you. Whether you're looking for that one great photo to hang on your wall or a series of portraits to show off in a custom designed album.

I aim to capture your family in your natural spirit.

I don’t do styled posing with babies.

I play with toddlers to get that genuine smile (instead of forcing that “cheese” smile).

I give you prompts on how to interact so we get authenic photos that show the love you all share.

What can we expect during our session?

I guide you on how to pose but for the most part we are creating natural moments that are beautiful and real and worth documenting.

You may be worried that you’ll feel awkward during your session because you won’t know what to do, how to stand, or how to look. Rest assured that I will give you instructions and coach you throughout our whole time together so you’ll look your best.

I have a series of tried and true poses that I’ll guide you through.

I want our time to together to be efficient and enjoyable for everyone.

What do we need to do to prepare for our session?

You can read all about how to prepare yourself, your children, and your home in my session guide that I will send to you after booking.

How many images will we receive?

I’ll present a gallery of 20+ edited images and download the full resolution jpg files from your online gallery (RAW files are not available for download).

You’re free to print your digital photos in any size you like, as often as you want.  As well as share on social media or with family.

I have another question!

Great! Use this contact form to send it to me. I’ll be back in touch ASAP.
