3 common questions about portrait sessions

You’ve got questions and I’ve got answers!

Here are my detailed answers to common questions I get about Maternity Portraits, Family Photos and Newborn Photography Sessions.

If you’re curious about what to wear, how soon and how many then read on.

Question 1: What should we wear?

The biggest thing to consider while you're deciding on outfits for your family portraits is to choose coordinating colors between each family member instead of trying to match the colors.

3 pieces to avoid wearing

  1. shirts with words printed on the front

  2. shirts with big graphics (no cartoon characters)

  3. shirts that make you feel uncomfortable

3 pieces that are must haves

  1. shirts with your favorite neck line

  2. shirts in your favorite color

  3. shirts that you feel your best in

Question #2: How soon do we get our photos?

Since I shoot with film, it takes 2 weeks for your rolls to be processed by my professional lab.

As soon as I receive your photos back from my lab, I’ll apply my final edits and upload them to a private online gallery for you to view.

Once your gallery is ready, I’ll email you a link to view your edited photos in your private online gallery.

If you’ve purchased digital photos, you’ll download them from your online gallery.

Question #3: How many photos do we get?

During your session we’ll shoot several frames.

After your session I’ll cull all the photos to just the best shots (eliminating any shots with closed eyes, unflattering facial expressions, etc).

So your private online gallery will have at least 20 edited photos.

Depending on which digital photo package you choose, you’ll pick your favorite shots or you’ll have them all.

If you purchased digital photos, they will be available for download from your online gallery when it’s ready.
